Today was a pretty good day for Team GAJ. BOTH(magnets & miracle-gro) Has grown tremendously and is looking very healthy. MA2 (magents 2) is probably the biggest plant in the team. We are really happy because it looks promising!

Mr. Davis vs. Doug Christie

Mr. Davis looks like a short version of Doug Christie, the pro basketball player :)

Materials and Methods

Tip: Your materials and methods should be very similar to a recipe in a cookbook; recall my story about making Emeril's Seafood Gumbo.

Today we critiqued Carolina's "materials and methods" and then students used the information to revise their own. Groups had approximately 45 minutes to type, revise and print their materials and methods. During this time students who needed help with multistep equations were to meet with Mr. Davis.

Cotyledon Lab y Mas

Today we worked on our lab report for the Effect of Cotyledon Removal on the Growth of Bean Seedlings lab. It is due this WEDNESDAY.

Students who have not completed their graphs and tables are behind at this point. Please check the "Daily Calender" and download the weekly plan from last week if you need another copy of the lab report. Replacements were passed out today in class.

Math: Two sets of practice problems were passed out today. They are both due WEDNESDAY.

Jacques and the Beanstalk:
Most plants have not yet sprouted. Tomorrow your Materials and Methods are due. Remember this is like a "recipe" for your experiment. We will revise them in class Tuesday.

Cotyledon Lab

Students should have begun the Cotyledon Lab Report, using a 2 page handout as a guide. The graphs were due earlier in the week and I only collected them from the "My Little Ponies" (first group). On Monday we will have about an hour to work on the lab report and it will be due at the beginning of the day Tuesday. Have a great weekend!

Jacques and the Beanstalk Day 1

This project is called Jacques and the Beanstalk. We had to plant some bean plants. The person who grows the biggest bean plant wins! We are all adding different things to it to try and make it grow bigger, but we are only allowed to change one thing at time. This is a daily journal about what we each group is doing that day.

Today everyone got their pots and soil. All groups labeled their pots for their experiment. The groups all potted their plants approximately 1/2 inch from the top. Each group added their different experiment, from Miracle-Gro, to using soda to water their plant instead of water, to adding Urea, and even putting in Co2 though Pop Rocks and Alka -Seltzers.
